I work for a chain of animal hospitals and district gives every hospital a bit of cash to spend on birthdays, holiday celebrations, snacks, team building activities, food for meetings etc... Our lovely new manager took the whole budget and made her office pink. She got a pink desk, pink walls, pink decorations, pink chairs... Then she had the nerve to say it's our fault that our budget is gone because we eat too much snacks.

JakobWulfkind 10 hr. ago Call corporate and say that you're concerned that the budget numbers aren't adding up, it's January and the morale budget is already gone but you've gotten nothing. Let them do the digging and work out on their own what happened, they'll drop on her like a ton of bricks. 793 Reply Share

EV-1879 hr. ago Take pictures and send them up the corporate chain of command. Misappropriation of funds is something that gets c-levels rather upset. BLATANT and easily proven misappropriation is especially bad. Partly because if you're too dumb to cover your tracks with plausible deniability then who knows what other ups you might cause. kups that might cost corporate money. Partly because if you're willing to steal this money from the company it signals you might be comfortable stealing other

Metalsmith21 · 7 hr. ago That may not be "illegal" but it will get their fired. Happened on a job I had for a National Credit company by one of the big automakers. Manager had a team budget and blew it all on himself. Came to me, gave me a 25$ gift card and said if anyone asks about what happened to the team budget to tell people that it was spent on some meat and cheeze trays for the team.

Couple of weeks later one of the team members made a stink and came to me asking about a meat and cheeze tray I said I don't remember anything about it. Higher management asked him for the receipts and he couldn't produce. He was fired the next day, weird way to lose a a10 year job all over a couple hundred bucks.

Knarfnarf 7 hr. ago As usual; worthless managers taking everything they can and then blame the workers who rescue the business. I so sick of it I've been telling everyone, "every penny I don't save is a penny the c level staff can't steal!"

evilspyboy 4 hr. ago. edited 4 hr. ago Probably not the exact same but one company I worked at they were doing a merger of sorts and the finance department had decided to make a project of getting everyone on the same finance system (but instead of making one set of rules customise the living out of the finance system instead so it worked differently for each department's individual preference and process to do the exact same things).

Anyway, so the project team flew to the other side of the world as part of this project... Monday to Friday. They flew back for weekend and then went back again after. Not just one or two key people, a team of them. They blew through the entire budget for all travel across the entire company for the year in a few weeks. A Fortune 500 international company with quite large amounts of travel budget for consultants and people who would go an implement the stuff customers bought.

There was a travel freeze for the next 11 months because again, they blew through everyone else's (every other department globally) travel budget for the entire year in less than a month. It was a 18 hour flight each way, and they would come back and go again every 5 days. The logistics of that is still mind numbingly stupid to me. Edit: I nearly forgot about the 5 star hotel....
